SPORT TRAJECTORY
Laureano has been training for more than 50 years. At the age of 15, he trained a local team from Santander, where Vicente Miera played. At 18, he began playing on Rácing de Santander while also training the “juveniles” juniors (U-18) which used to be his teammates. At 24, he signed with Gimnástica de Torrelavega, the second ranked team under Rácing, while continuing to train the “juveniles” juniors from Rácing. When both teams played, Laureano was in a position that few professionals find themselves in – coach for one, player for the other! By 28, he stopped playing professionally so that he could dedicate himself to training full-time at Rácing de Santander. He was the youngest trainer in Spain.
His football career, both as a footballer and as a trainer, has mainly been at Rácing, which spans 22 years. He then spent 8 years training at F.C. Barcelona, and lastly another 21 years at Celta de Vigo and Escuela Municipal de Santander (Santander Municipal Football Academy). Laureano is the only Maestro who has trained in all categories, from 1st Division to “Benjamines”, 2nd Division “A” and “B”, 3rd Division, and “Juveniles” (Juniors). While with Rácing and Barça, he won 7 titles as Champions of Spain, with Barça 5 times consecutively.

As an anecdote, Laureano played against Julio Iglesias (yes, the famous Singer) when Julio was Goalkeeper in Real Madrid…
Today he is the Manager-Director of the “Escuela Municipal de Fútbol de Santander”.
